False Prophet

The Bible has warned us about false prophets:

Mathew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mathew 24:24-25 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before.

Mark 13:22-23 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. 

II Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 

II Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 

II Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 

How can we recognize it?

Mathew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 

Mathew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 

Mathew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 

Mathew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 

Mathew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 

I John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 

I John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 

I John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 

I John  4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 

I John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 

How do I defeat these false prophets?

I John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 

I John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

I Corinthians 14:36, 38 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. 

Hebrew 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
